Here you will always find the American flag
waving and the American eagle flying.
Home of the
Christmas songs, decorating and
celebration of the reason for the season.
So adjust those eyes and ears, I have
nothing but festive and beautiful
music for you to enjoy!
The tree is decorated
I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present and the Future.
The spirits of all three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out he lessons that they teach!
~ Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
How cute this is with the teddy bears reserving their
place on the swing and the snowman looking
out the window, pine cones, well just neat.
And, who remembers these? I am pretty sure they are still
on the market but not displayed like they used to be.
We always had these at Christmas time if my mind is
not fooling me, which is possible.
We can't forget the ribbon candy! I loved it and we
got it at Christmas time. It amazed me how they were
able to make this look like ribbon.
I always loved this candy. I was entertained with how
so very colorful it always was, and the many
different tastes .... bring back memories.
The baked goodies that folks come up with these days
is endless. Gotta say Hershey Kisses are a weakness
of mine ....
And there is nothing like a iced sugar or butter
cookie. These are very well done.
And I will finish up this section with those so
festive cookies. Wow, would love to sink my
teeth into one or two or three of those!
Please know that I have not tried all the
recipes that I post. "Thank-you."
Divinity
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup nuts (pecans-suggestion)
1/2 cup nuts (pecans-suggestion)
Boil sugar, water and syrup until it forms a hand ball in cold water
(about 10 min.)
(about 10 min.)
Beat egg whites until firm
then add syrup slowly beating until stiff and not glossy. (about 15 min.)
Add the nuts (if desired) and drop by small spoon fulls onto waxed paper
Here's a tip:
When beating the syrup into the egg whites
you want to be sure and whip until the mixture
is not glossy. Sounds strange I know.
The consistency will be like a dry mud.
